THE ENVELOPES

Duration 20–30 minutes
Team games

Materials

At least 15 letter envelopes, tape, 2 balls, and at least 15 printed phrases or quotes or thoughts or prayers. The envelope game can be played both indoors and outdoors.

Description

First, each printed sentence must be cut into many sentences/words, then the pieces of paper must be placed in the envelopes (each envelope contains a different sentence). Then the envelopes should be pasted on a wall or door in different positions. Once the preparation of the game is finished, two or more teams are formed and arranged in a row at a certain distance from the envelopes. The members of each team arranged in a row (except for a small group of 2-3 people per team who remain apart) take turns with the ball towards the wall/door to try to hit the envelopes. The teams play at the same time. If the envelope is hit then it is handed to the small group on the sidelines who are tasked with reconstructing the sentence.

Who wins?

The game ends when all the envelopes have been hit and none remain stuck to the wall/door. The team that hit the most envelopes (one point for each envelope) and reassembled the most sentences (two points for each correct sentence) wins.

What does the game teach?

Collaboration, competition and teamwork.
